Notes on metamodernism attempted to create a new language, a new idiom, for those developments in contemporary culture that can no longer be understood in terms of postmodernism, or indeed modernism, or Romanticism, or the avant garde, and so forth. A new language requires a new dictionary, evidently. On this page, we sought to gather and define the key terms, concepts, and persons of early twenty-first century culture.
